Document certification
Document certification is the act of confirming that a copy of a document is a complete, true and up-to-date copy of the originals. The certified document includes the signature and date of the authorised person. The certification is valid for a limited amount of time. Therefore, it should only be certified when needed. When certifying documents, the original should be present.
Document notarisation
Document notarisation is when the identity and signature of the signatory has been verified by referring to the original photographic identity and is witnessed when signed by the Notary Public. Documents that have been notarised must also include the Notary Public’s seal or stamp.
Document apostilisation & legalisation
Document legalisation is the process where the signature and the seal of foreign documents are authenticated. This makes documents from foreign countries suitable for official use in Indonesia. Since Indonesia has not joined the Hague Convention Treaty, legalisation cannot be done using an apostille, but is instead handled by relevant consular authorities.
